The Deaths in Custody Watch Committee demands a 24-hour custody notification service, an end to imprisonment, and 24-hour medical coverage at all regional and metropolitan lockups. The government has responded to these calls with weakened versions of what we are asking for. This is not enough! Keep up the pressure by downloading and filling out this letter to the president of the Legislative Council, and post or email to the addresses provided.
Our related petition will be up on the site soon.

The Deaths in Custody Watch Committee (WA) Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based organisation that receives no funding support from state or federal governments and exists solely through the time and efforts of volunteers. The organisation relies on the generosity and support of members and supporters. Without the support of donations and membership the work of the committee could not continue. If you can make a donation, please visit the Donate page and follow the instructions there.
The Deaths in Custody Watch Committee exists only through the efforts of people who volunteer their time, skills and other resources. Anyone who shares the aims of the committee is welcome to get involved. We need people with a variety of skill sets: media, communications, website programmers, legal expertise, event organisers, lobbyists, graphic designers – we are a creative and dynamic mob that can use you! There is a lot of work to be done and the more people involved, the easier the load on everyone. Join us! Send a message to email@example.com or via the form on the Contact page, or come along to one of our regular campaign meetings, most Wednesdays from 6pm at the CSA building, 445 Hay Street, Perth.
We currently need a volunteer to maintain our website.
Share, like and otherwise distribute widely! We have a facebook page where we put up news related to prisons, forthcoming events and other campaign updates. You can also follow us on Twitter. Making a fuss on social media brings lots of attention to the issues that we care about.
